You read that right. The kids will be heading back to school before you know it. I know it's hard to believe. Thanks to the craziness during the 2020 school year, this summer break is shorter than usual. Make going back to school extra special!
One way to do that is to welcome your students, teachers and staff back to school. Greet them with an awesome yard card display. It's a wonderful way to put a little pep in their step and brighten their spirts. Back to school yard cards aren't just for schools. Parents can get in on the fun too. Surprise your kids the morning of the first day by having a display on your lawn to greet them as they leave for school. Imagine the smiles it will bring. Start the first day off on a positive note. Don't wait until the last minute, last year we sold out and we're sure to sell out again this year. So book today before spots are full! Place your reservation here Have you carded someone today? If not, what are you waiting for? Everyone should GET CARDED! Welcome to Get Carded! The official blog for Say it in the Yard. I'm Kristen, owner and CEO.
Say it in the Yard started out as a fundraiser for A Mom's Helping Hand of SWFL in May of 2015. The group started sending out flocks of pink flamingos as a way to raise funds for school supplies for children of single parents in Southwest Florida. In 2018, they added yard cards to their already busy flocking lineup. Group members helped do flockings and pickups as orders came in. Once yard cards were introduced, I was out spreading joy with these colorful plastic words and accents. Fast forward to March 2020, the Covid-19 Pandemic hit and shut everything down. The orders started pouring in and it was just too much for the group to handle. You see, it is pretty hard to find volunteers to help do flockings, setups and pickups for FREE. Yep that's right, no one received a dime because all the funds went into the nonprofit. I approached the board members about buying the whole kit and caboodle from the nonprofit. This put funds into their account and allowed Kristen to start paying people to help do flockings and pickups. Hence Say it in the Yard became an official business in May of 2020. The transition was not hard at all. The inventory was already stored at my home, I handled all of the reservations, invoicing, and communicated directly with the customers. One I officially started Say it in the Yard, I was able to invest more money into adding more yard cards to be able to offer so much more than just a couple of Happy Birthday sets. Today, the inventory consists of several happy birthday sets, alphabets in multiple colors and sizes that allows me to personalize any saying to cater to the customers request and theme. We add cute accents to each setup to help fill in and enhance the message. Yard cards have become a huge hit and used for just about any celebration or event. We've even just setup to put a smile on faces just because. Below are some silly, funny and uplifting messages we have done just to spread joy. I hope you will follow us on our journey as we continue to grow and put smiles on the faces of SWFL residents for years to come. |
